Ready to pick grapes, eat all you want and have a free glass of Arché wine? Come on out to the vineyard on Saturday, September 2, ready to harvest!

 

You can RSVP by commenting on this post or by calling or texting to (214) 536-6330. RSVP is required and space is limited. If you are interested, here are the details:

  • Must be at least 18 years old to participate.
  • We start at 7:30am but late arrivals are still welcome!
  • Must wear gloves.
  • Wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals).
  • Bring your hat and sunscreen. Also, white or light-colored long sleeves and pants really can keep you cooler in the sun than exposed skin.
  • Bring pruning shears or clippers, if you have them. We can supply if you don’t.
  • Stay hydrated! We supply water. Just keep drinking! (water, that is)
  • Have fun! If you get out here and find the heat is too much, you’re just not enjoying yourself or you simply need a break, feel free to hang out in the tasting room or in the shade outside. We want you to have a great experience.
  • Stay for lunch. We will have a big spread for you to choose from along with Arche wines and non-alcoholic beverages, all FREE for participating harvesters!
  • Come home with an elegant Arche wine glass!

Arche Chateau RougeA medium-bodied, southern French style blend of our estate grown Rhone varietals: 63% Syrah, 19% Carignan, 7% Mourvedre, 7% Roussanne and 4% Grenache. Aromas of cherry, sweet red peppers, cinnamon, black olive and plum, with light floral notes and undertones of leather. Soft, rounded mouth-feel with great balance. Just 2 barrels produced. Arche Syrah 2015Drop in this weekend for a free sample of our new release, 2015 Syrah. This estate grown, old-world style Syrah is similar to the wines of Côte Rôtie in the northern Rhône: 95% Syrah; 5% Viognier. Aromas of black currant, raspberry, violet, and chocolate molé along with hints of hickory, bacon fat, white pepper and smoke. Full-bodied with a good balance of acidity and alcohol with fine grained tannins throughout the palate. Long aging potential. Only 237 cases produced.

Arche Cabernet HarvestLooking for something fun and different to do? Consider participating in a grape harvest in a beautiful and serene north Texas vineyard in the heart of the Red River Valley. Each year we harvest with help from a lot of folks who come out and pick the grapes with us. We then wine and dine them for lunch and everyone has a great time. Our final harvest of the 2016 season is quickly approaching. On October 1 we will bring in the Cabernet Sauvignon for its long journey into winedom (yes, I made up that word and you may use it). Want to join us?

Here are the details:

  • Must be at least 18 years old to participate.

2013 Ryan’s Red Release

Ryan's RedOur 2013 Ryan’s Red is now available in the tasting room! Ryan’s Red has been one of our most popular dry reds since it was first introduced. The 2013 vintage delivers rich aromas of red cherry, balanced fruit flavors and a hint of black pepper on the finish. It goes great with BBQ pork ribs so I’ve included a recipe below that I whipped up the other day.

Ryan’s Red is December’s Wine of the Month. When visiting Arché, Club 228 members can get a bottle of Ryan’s Red, a glass of wine of the member’s choice and a snack, all for just $20 + tax.

Oven BBQ Country Style Pork Ribs

6-8 country style pork ribs
2 cups BBQ sauce

Preheat oven to 300ºF. Place the ribs in a large baking dish and cover with half the sauce. Roll the ribs around to completely coat them. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 3 hours. Uncover, increase temperature to 350 and bake another hour, turning after 30 minutes. Remove from pan and serve with remaining sauce.

BBQ Sauce

1½ Tbs olive oil
1 Tbs minced onion
1 clove minced garlic
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
2 Tbs Ryan’s Red
½ tsp Worchestershire sauce
½ tsp soy sauce
½ tsp molasses
¼ cup chili powder
1 Tbs brown sugar
½ tsp mustard powder
½ tsp freshly ground black pepper

Place olive oil and onion in medium-sized sauce pan. Saute over medium heat until onion begins to soften. Reduce heat to low, add garlic and saute until onion and garlic are soft. Whisk in remaining ingredients and continue to simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
