arche_vineyardVineyard tour season is ramping up in the north Texas hill country. Here at Arché the tours include a fascinating hour and a half with the winemaker in the vineyard and educational wine tasting in the cellar. Tour size is kept small so each guest has the opportunity for one-on-one questions with the winemaker.

The next tour is scheduled for Saturday, February 25 at 3:00 but you must make your reservation before it’s filled up. All tour guests must be 18 or older. Only 21 and older receive wine tastings. The cost is just $15 per person. Club 228 members receive two free entries.

Chardonnay Awarded in Houston Rodeo Uncorked!

arche_chardonnayAre you an ABC (Anything But Chardonnay) wine drinker? We might be able to change your mind with our estate grown 2015 Chardonnay. It just received the Texas Class Champion award for “Chardonnay aged all or part in barrels, $25 – $34” at the Houston Rodeo Uncorked International Wine Competition. We planted our first Chardonnay vine in 1999 and have grown the cultivar to well over a thousand producing vines. This Chardonnay has aromas of melon, apple, mandarin orange, pineapple and wet stone, with undertones of honey and caramel present on the palate. It has a subtle creaminess and full, rounded mouth-feel. It is not heavy on the oak, so is very appealing to many who insist they do not like Chardonnay. Try it for free this weekend in the tasting room and let us know what you think.

Arche Cabernet HarvestLooking for something fun and different to do? Consider participating in a grape harvest in a beautiful and serene north Texas vineyard in the heart of the Red River Valley. Each year we harvest with help from a lot of folks who come out and pick the grapes with us. We then wine and dine them for lunch and everyone has a great time. Our final harvest of the 2016 season is quickly approaching. On October 1 we will bring in the Cabernet Sauvignon for its long journey into winedom (yes, I made up that word and you may use it). Want to join us?

Here are the details:

  • Must be at least 18 years old to participate.
  • We start at 8:00 a.m.
  • Wear gloves.
  • Wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals).
  • Bring your hat and sunscreen. Temperatures are expected to be in the 70’s – 80’s.
  • Stay hydrated! We supply water. Just keep drinking (water, that is).
  • Have fun, take frequent breaks if you need to, feel free to hang out in the tasting room or under the tent outside. We want you to have a great experience.
  • Stay for lunch. We will have a great big spread for you to choose from along with Arché wines and non-alcoholic beverages, all FREE for participating harvesters!
  • Come home with an elegant Arché wine glass!
  • Lots of fabulous door prizes!
  • RSVP today by calling or texting to (214) 536-6330.
